How
To Use A Pendulum
And
discover your intuitive self in the process.

Sharra McDearmont
As I start my little discourse, I ask each of us set aside
personal belief systems for a moment and to receive this information with
an open mind and without fear. Remember
no one is forcing us to believe anything that is being said.
If we understand what is being said, if the words ring true in our
heart then we will hold on to them. That
is only natural. If we don’t
understand the words or we don’t like what is being said then we should
choose not to pass judgment, simply lay it down, let it go, and go on
ourselves.
We live in an energy Universe. We are not separate from the Universe. Everything is connected.
The ancient Native Americans understood that all forms of life,
from the clouds to the trees, to the buffalo that roamed the Great Plains,
were all transient swirling patterns of energy.
This basic understanding and perception of life is held by most
native cultures around the world. All
life is energy. We are
immersed in an Ocean of energy. The
energy that is around us flows and moves, in constant, ever changing
currents through time and space.
Some of that energy is beneficial to us but some energy can be utterly
destructive to us. To survive, every organism (including human beings) has
developed a means by which it can sense the more harmful energies and
avoid it. In fact humans have
a highly developed ability to sense this energy.
It’s called ‘Intuition.’
Everything that is going on in the world today, all circumstances,
all events are a function of thought created by energy. Our intuitive perception and everything in our reality
(including ourselves) is based on energized vibrations vibrating at
specific frequencies that are unique to each of us.
(Time just doesn’t permit going into a lot of detail here.)
Intuition lies within the mind.
The mind operates something like a combination of computer, radio,
television receiver and transmitter.
Intention and concentration are the tuning devices.
Another words we learn to develop our intuition by concentrating
our intention on what it is we wish to do, to be, or to know.
Our thoughts are a form of energy.
Energy that is available not only to us but can be picked up by
others as well. If we think
about it, we have all experienced communicating with another being on an
intuitive, nonverbal level. Answering questions before they’ve been
asked, reaching for the telephone before it rings, or knowing who it is
before you answer.
The first and most important step in developing the intuitive mind is
to remove the thought of “coincidence” or “by accident” from our
vocabulary and to refrain from rationalizing our intuitive experiences
away. This is how we open the
door to our subconscious minds, the home of our intuitions.
The second most important step in developing the intuitive mind is to
‘energize it’ in two ways. One,
passively energizing and balancing the mind through what I call ‘quiet
time’ be it prayer, meditation, solitude, spending time in a natural
environment, or just taking time to constructively daydream.
Two, practicing with active intuitive methods that give immediate
answers such as pendulums, rods or cards.
Something to consider: when we are able to get accurate answers
from our knowing Intuition, we will find emotional stability or calmness
increased as a result. Now after this long introduction that brings us to
learning about one of those intuitive methods or tools.
I have chosen to talk about the pendulum today, which I personally
feel is one of the most precise intuitive tools.
"Getting
Started With The Pendulum"
A
pendulum is any article that hangs from a string, or chain.
It needs to be able to swing freely.
Things that come to mind are a watch or a piece of jewelry, a
wedding ring slipped onto a sting or chain, my grandmother quilted a
lot, she would simple use a needle and thread,
my grandfather was a carpenter, he carried a plumb bob in his
pocket, key chains, even a binder clip on a rubber band.
Today though we are specifically talk about ‘pendulums’ that
have been made for this purpose.
A pendulum can be used to discover new,
universal
information on health, wealth, relationships, and for diagnosis
and healing. With a pendulum,
you can talk
directly
to your own Guides, and Angels (your High Self or Spiritual Committee) to
gain new information.
It helps to get used to communicating with a pendulum by asking it
questions you already know the answer too.
I have included a number of exercises here to give you ideas and
help you get started.
Put
your elbow on the table. If you are right handed, use your
right hand to dowse with the
pendulum.
If you are left handed, use your left hand. There is usually
a little bead, ring, or charm of some kind on the opposite end of the
pendulum. This can be
placed between the fingers and the chain wrapped around the fingers.
It’s a matter of personal preference.
Some will like it short (2 to 3 inches from the pendulum) some
will want a longer chain (maybe six inches or more.) Hold it with thumb
index,
and middle fingers or what feels comfortable for you. The shorter the
string, the faster the pendulum moves. Say a prayer of
protection before using the pendulum, something that will be meaningful to
you. Example: "Clear
me. Shield me. I invite the Holy Spirit and my Guides
and Angels, to be present and to talk to me through my
pendulum."
"How To Recognize A 'Yes' Signal"
Put your elbows on the table, and sit
comfortably. Swing the pendulum away from your body,
and
back again, (forward & back) while doing that say this: "This is
my Yes. People
nod
their heads yes, and this is my Yes, - nod your
head in a 'yes' gesture, when you say this sentence.
(Programming
your pendulum this way is not cheating - you are merely establishing a
symbolic language to use between mind and body, and once it is familiar it
will become automatic and serve you long and well.
"How
To Recognize A 'No' Signal"
Next,
swing the pendulum gently from left to right side and say this: "This
is my No. People shake their heads No, and this is my No, shake your head in a
no gesture
(Left
to right)
when you say this.
"How
To Recognize A 'Working' or ‘Clearing’ Signal"
Start by swinging the pendulum in a clock-wise circle, and
say the following:
"This is my “Working” Signal. My
pendulum goes in a circle when my Spiritual Committee
is
clearing something, as a block, program, or negative
energy." Your angels and guides will talk to you through the
pendulum. In this way they can help you more, and give you accurate universal
information. This is a tool that you will have for life. If you
are not sure, if a vitamin is good for you for example hold the vitamins
in your non-dominant hand, and dowse over
it. Ask: "Is this good for me?" They
will tell you
Yes, or No. When you ask a question, give the pendulum a twist, in a
circle, clockwise, and that will get it started. With
this method, you will get free information from your own
Masters, Saints, Angels, and those that watch over
and help you - your own inner Guides.
"Finding Percentage Answers"
Using
a piece of 8 1/2 X 11 paper write: 1, 2 ,3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9,
0 From left to right.
"What
percentage of good, will this new
job give me, if I take it?" Then, swing your
pendulum
in a circle to get it started. 'They' will search around for the right
percentage on
the
numbered chart. For example, if the pendulum
swings to 7, that means 70% benefit.
Then,
you can ask if 70% (for example) is right. And, they will tell you either
"Yes" or "No".
"Finding The Days Of The Week"
You
can also ask the day of the week using a number chart...
1. Monday 2. Tuesday 3.
Wednesday 4. Thursday 5. Friday 6.
Saturday 7. Sunday
"Using The Dictionary To Find Words &
Sentences"
Using a white piece of 8 1/2 X 11 paper write: 1, 2, 3,
4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 0 From left to right.
Ask
what page the word is on, that your Masters, Guides/Angels want tell you
about. Give your pendulum a turn in a clockwise
fashion.......... They will say, for
example, page 58 (5
and 8).Then you go to page 58 in the dictionary, and ask if it is the
Right or Left column on page 58. Give the pendulum a circular twist, and it
will go Yes or No. They will say for
example, that it is the left column on page 58. Then put your
pendulum in No mode (left to right
side)......Then, with your free hand, you go down the list with your index
finger, until you get a Yes, on your pendulum. So, as you
go down the list, you want to start with the
pendulum swinging - 'No'. When you hit the right word,
it will go' Yes'. Ask "Is this is the
right word?", to confirm it. You can also
tell if it is the right word, by your gut feeling, or
intuition.
Use the pendulum, and your intuition to get
answers, practice and be patient.
"Clearing Away Entities & Their
Energies"
"Clear and Shield." Ask if you
have entities, (Souls that have died, and left their bodies). If
you
get a Yes, say: "Clear, and remove. Take them
to their proper place, there is no Sin.
God
loves them." If the entity is still
present, then, you have a nasty one. Say this then:
"Shackle
throw them into the Holy Spirit clear and remove. Take them to their
proper place
there
is no Sin, God loves them." But an entity, can
resist the shackle method. It is very
important
to stay clear of discarnates (entities, or lost Souls). Check
to make sure that you
are
clear each day. If the above methods do not work ask for "The
Beam Of God", and clear
and
remove, and this will surely work. Make sure that you say:
"Clear and remove." At the
end,
say: "Remove their thought forms, energies, energy
trails, and black magic", as some
of
them are likely to leave these in your
consciousness. Use this important method daily.
"Removing Psychic Interference"
Ask your Guides to remove all lines, and
energies that are not love lines, and energies from
you.
People send psychic influences to others routinely,
especially family members. Ask
that
all energies and thoughts but your own (and love lines and energies) be
removed. Then,
ask
for your consciousness to be: balanced,
cleansed, and shielded with the Holy Spirit.
"Testing Your Accuracy"
Use the percentage chart mentioned above and ask how accurate you
are. Say-"How accurate am I?" It should
say 100%. If it does not ask them to clear and shield you
again. Do this until you get a 100%
answer.
A numbered chart can be any piece of paper with the numbers from 1 to 10
listed.
It might take some time to learn the pendulum, so
practice a little each day. Pendulums
have
been around for thousands of years, and some where even
found in Egyptian tombs,
from
over 6,000 years ago. The Pendulum is a
wonderful tool, and will help you through
out
your life. Anyone can use it.
All
you have to do is practice and it will
surely bring results.
Asking questions through dowsing
When you first open an inquiry with your dowsing, or when you
change dowsing topics, it is important to first check that it is timely
and appropriate to be using your dowsing for this particular purpose.
Sometimes we may be asking questions which cannot yet be
answered, or that may not be for us to know the answers to - issues of
psychic intrusion and trespass can occur if we are asking questions
outside of our legitimate concern for example, and under these
circumstances our dowsing may be inaccurate or misleading.
Thus our opening sequence when starting a fresh dowse runs as
follows:
* state clearly the topic of inquiry you wish to pursue
* ask "can I ask about this ?" (meaning, "do I
have sufficient skill & competence ?")
* ask "may I ask about this ?" ("meaning, do I
have permission ?") * please note - if you are dowsing in relation to
another person or their affairs, the verbal request or permission of that
individual on all consciousness levels should first be sought. Dowsing
works best in response to genuine need and less well in response to idle
curiosity or unwelcome intrusion *. Be responsible and respectful and your
dowsing will work better for you.
* ask "am I ready ?" (meaning "is this a timely
moment to make this inquiry ?" - energy moves and unfolds in cycles,
and sometimes our own energy is not ready to be dowsing a certain topic,
or the topic may not be ready to be revealed - waiting a while and then
trying again may sometimes be necessary)
If you receive a "yes" to all the above questions, you
can then go freely ahead with your inquiry.
Asking the right questions
Phrase each of your questions such that a "yes" or
"no" response is a full and complete answer. This requires a
little practice, and typically when one is mislead through dowsing, one
sees retrospectively that the question asked was ambiguous or that more
than one meaning could be inferred from the answer received.
I wonder what the answer will be ?
Once the question has been asked, there is typically a short
pause before the pendulum swing indicates the answer. During this time it
is important to hold an open mind, unattached to the answer that we are
about to receive.
Dowsing blind
This unattached and open-minded state can be hard to achieve if
the question is highly emotionally charged or bears great consequence,
particularly for oneself or a loved one.
In these circumstances, one can get a little more distance by
writing the question(s) down on a piece of paper, and several other
questions to which the answers are already known (is today Saturday ? -
does the Thames run through London ?) on similar pieces of paper.
Turn all the pieces face down and shuffle them around until you
can no longer tell which is which, and then dowse each piece one by one -
"what is the answer to the question on this piece of paper ?"
Not only does this allow you to dowse with less investment in the
outcome, but it also allows you to check your accuracy and can help you to
assess how much weight to place on the information your dowsing reveals
Checking and building confidence
Getting another dowser to check your answers can be tremendously
valuable, and if you find that your friend gets a different answer to
yours, look carefully to see whether the difference is truly in the
dowsing response or if it is actually related to a difference in the
questions asked or the way that you are each interpreting the words and
meaning of the question.
You can check your accuracy by dowsing questions that you will
shortly know the answer to - when making a phone call for example you can
first dowse to see if the person that you are calling is at home / in
their office - and if they are whether their answer machine is switched
on... you'll get instant feedback but again look to see if inaccuracies
are due to an ambiguous question...
If you find that your dowsing is misleading you, stop and try
again later when you are again feeling alert and clear.
Remember that genuine need is the best key to unlock your dowsing
faculties, and this in itself will help to direct your dowsing and indeed
the alignment of your energy generally in relation to the world.
I like to say "thank you" to the Creator Source when I’ve
finished a dowsing inquiry - it helps to keep ones' energy aligned with
Grace and also fosters a sense of reverence and respect for this innate
and wonderful gift that we all share.
Good Luck and Good
Dowsing!
